Northern Lights
Music & Lyrics by
Ghosts of Black River
[Verse]
Another day in paradise I'm told,
The way I feel, that seems so far from the truth,
Held-down and kicked repeatedly.
And surely!
[Chorus]
I could spend my days fueling the hate but I,
Laid waste to old ways and
cleared my mind.
Now I'm back on my feet, that fire in my eyes
Looking out through the haze of these Northern Lights.
[Verse]
I see them move within the shadows,
Target the weak with what they like to abuse,
Forced- down and left to bleed on their knees,
And surely,
[Chorus]
I could spend my days fueling the hate but I,
Laid waste to old ways and cleared my mind
Now I'm back on my feet with fire in my eyes
Looking out through the haze of these Northern Lights.
[Bridge]
Within the streets they all roam,
Below, the daily battle.
The place that I call my home,
Is now completely shattered,
These walls, they were made of stone,
But now they seem so fragile,
If we keep walking,
This road, will be the last we travel.
[Solo]
[Chorus]
I could spend my days fueling the hate but I,
Laid waste to old ways and cleared my mind
Now I'm back on my feet with fire in my eyes
Looking out through the haze of these Northern Lights.
[Bridge]
Within the streets they all roam,
Below, the daily battle.
The place that I call my home,
Is now completely shattered,
These walls, they were made of stone,
But now they seem so fragile,
If we keep walking,
This road, will be the last we travel.

More Heavy Metal/Hard Rock from the guys who know how to do it right. Starts at 11 and just go up from there. This one reminds me of the Texas Hippy Coalition doing 70ies Heavy Metal with some Hair Rock lead breaks thrown in. Harry Harrison

I can’t believe I’m just now finding this band. I lucked into finding them by reading an old interview with The Skull members Eric Wagner, Ron Holzner, and Jeff Olson (All three formerly of Trouble, too). They’ve been broken up for almost a decade now. Such a shame; they should have and still should be HUGE! The vocalist has some amazing pipes! If you listen to the first song and don’t buy it, it’s quite possible you have zero taste when it comes to heavy music. Jason Gilbert

To me this is like 70ies Heavy Metal in nearly all aspects. I can understand the comparisons to Motörhead but to me they don’t really sound like them, except maybe for the Heavy Blue style lead breaks. What they do have is the drive, gravelly vocals and swagger of Motörhead. This they have that in buckets. Super fun Heavy Metal/Hard Rock that just doesn’t age. Harry Harrison
